


The First International Congress on the Quran and Science was held on Sunday, May 20, at the Allameh Amini Hall of the Central Library of the University of Tehran, attended by prominent scientific and religious figures. This academic event, coinciding with the 90th anniversary of the University of Tehran’s establishment and organized in collaboration with various universities across the country, was accompanied by a message from Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli.
At this congress, distinguished figures such as Dr. Mohammad Moqimi, President of the University of Tehran; Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehrani, President of the Islamic Azad University; Dr. Salehi, Deputy President of the Academy of Sciences; Ayatollah Alam al-Hoda, Secretary of the Education and Training Committee of the Supreme Cultural Council; and Dr. Vaezi, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the University of Tehran, delivered speeches.
Dr. Moqimi described this congress as a turning point for research by scholars in life sciences, experimental sciences, and medicine, emphasizing: “Quranic teachings can greatly contribute to the formation of new perspectives in scientific fields.” Dr. Vaezi, referring to the necessity of utilizing Quranic concepts and knowledge, stated: “Experimental scientists should use Quranic teachings for the benefit of the Islamic world, and this congress is an opportunity to integrate science and religion for the scientific advancement of Islamic societies.”
The main themes of this congress included topics such as consciousness in nature, purpose in nature, and order in nature, which were met with widespread enthusiasm from domestic and international researchers and thinkers.
This international congress is considered a significant step toward deepening interactions between the Holy Quran and experimental sciences, and its outcomes are expected to pave the way for new interdisciplinary research.
